Urspr\u00fcnglich wurde der, aus der chinesischen Region Fujian, stammende Tee in der einheimischen Sprache \u201eCha\u201c genannt. Mit der Verbreitung der damals wichtigen Handelswaren wie Seide, Gew\u00fcrze und auch Tee \u00fcber die Seidenstra\u00dfe in die anderen Kontinente der Welt, entstand schlie\u00dflich der Begriff \u201eChai\u201c.
